FLEX PERSPECTIVE

The ultimate goal of any psychotherapy is to change unhealthy thinking about the world and yourself within.

This is perspective change; very hard to change. Your perspective is based on beliefs. Beliefs are base on experiences and how they are interpreted and responded to. These are learned, remembered and stored in our memory. Being validated over and over again each time  something similar happens, eventually becoming our 'Truths'. That's why Change is so hard: 'Truths' are hard to disbelieve.

I use FLEX PERSPECTIVE in all my therapies to make changes easier.

Flex Perspective is at the core of all my therapies. These are exercises that open yourself up to perspectives that may differ from your own. This is not a new concept. It's also known as 'Perspective Taking' and 'Theory of Mind'. The ability to understand others' beliefs, intentions and emotions is related to, but not to be confused with empathy where you feel what others feel. In Flex Perspective you need not agree, or feel what others' feel, you only need to understand. In my professional opinion, it's this exposure to many alternate perspectives that makes therapy work!

You'll find FLEX PERSPECTIVE activities in all  my therapies:

Individual Therapy: Old beliefs that may no longer serve will be identified. Using powerful strategies such as Reframing, Parts and more,  we will practice Flex Perspective and create new beliefs that are beneficial now. Making Change happen!

Couples Therapy:  Couples are taught how to become Loving Communicators and practice Flex Perspective strategies on each other. Enabling Change to happen!

Bibliotherapy Group: Using the power of literature as a guide to practice Flex Perspective, we learn to view life through different lenses as we read and hear from others their interpretations. Allowing Change to happen!

Flex Perspective may be a new concept to many. Call or  email me, and I will be happy and excited to tell you more!

"Everyone thinks a little differently from everyone else, and it's our job to be curious!"
